Power Steering ACV plug question
Hello, Fro 1993 LS400
For those who have plugged the ACV under the power steering pump I have a question:
OK so you disconnect 2 hoses that come out of the valve itself and go somehwere to the intake..
THen you take off a 17 mm screw and plug that.
So you have 2 nipples at the ACV that I dont know if you have to plug or just leave open?
Also what happens to the nipples located in intake area? Are these the ones you plug?
I was looking at the Bible and another thread but pictures are missing so I cant see exactly what they did...can someone please clarify this?

I plugged with vacuum caps.
I originally had a single hose connecting them both, but it caused higher idle and I was told I should simply cap them. You can buy these at an auto parts store.
I have had alot of PS issues over the past 10 months, but finally my steering is NOT leaking and the car is steering like new again (after blocking the idle-up valve, replacing the rack solenoid and cleaning the PS pump screen)... of course now that I am selling it.

what about the nipples on the ACV itself? Just leave those alone? Thanks!
Yeah, it was sure a life saver for me. My dad did all of the work for me (with instructions from this site)
My smoke on startup issue stopped instantly... that pleased me for sure, because it had got bad. It looked like my engine was blown up when I would first start the car.
Anyone not knowing would have thought so.
Still had a leak... it was the return line. Then my steering started to shudder... then slowly went out. Replaced the solenoid on the rack with a used one from a 1994 LS400... then cleaned the screen in the pump... about 6 days later, my steering slowly came back... good as new again and no leaks.... cost me about $55 after all told.
It cost me $50 in tranny fluid over the past two years it was leaking.
I was about to replace the PS pump... glad I didnt, because that was not the issue.

Yeah thats exactly what I used to plug it, and it worked perfect for my 93...but Ive read some people arent as lucky for some reason.
