Default Alarm issue

My wife has been complaining about the alarm going off intermittently when opening the trunk with the remote (doors still locked). Finally happened to me today. I'm not sure whether I set the alarm when I parked or not (pressed the lock button on the fob twice). Its like the fob pops the trunk, but doesn't deactivate the alarm. I tried to duplicate the issue by setting the alarm and opening the trunk, no problem, so it's intermittent. Any ideas?? I'm going to try using the key to open the trunk for a while to see if that sets off the alarm. Any input would be appreciated. 1998 LS 400.

I've got the same exact issue. No idea whats causing it either.

Is the only way to turn off the alarm unlocking the door with the key? Pressing buttons on the FOB does nothing for me

I'm having the same issue...it's worse when cold, and is getting worse with age (although still intermittent)...

Any solutions thus far?

On a related note. I've never had my alarm go off so I'm not sure how to test it's working correctly. Any help? 99 LS.

Default Alarm Issue with Trunk open / Doors Still Locked

Hello,

Has anyone had any luck solving this problem?

I experienced the same tonight. I'm assuming a microswitch in the trunk latch is shot but I don't know...

Thank you,

Sunseek
