1990 LS400 electrical system disabled by alarm?
My wife has a high miles (341k) LS400 and it's about 50/50 that the alarm will sound when she unlocks the door with the key. Today the horn went off, she turned the key again like she usually does which turned off the horn, but now the engine won't turn over at all, the rear trunk latch won't open from inside the car (electrical), but the interior lights turn on. Do these cars have a built-in immobilizer feature that has to be reset? Otherwise I'll have to start checking fuses or something.
The remote part of the key doesn't work and hasn't for quite some time.

After driving back in to town to rescue the wife, it would appear that yes, the '90 LS400 does indeed have an imobilizer system tied to the alarm. After rolling all the windows up, and locking the doors, and then unlocking the driver door using the key, the alarm was reset and everything started working again.
