Hello, new to the forums. I just bought a 1996 Ls 400 with 180,000

miles. The interior and exterior are flawless. The previous owner took very

good care of the Ls. I am currently the second owner. The car was regularly

maintained. I have owned the car for about 3 days. All of a sudden I was

experiencing loud noises while turning the wheel. I came to discover the car

was low on P/S fluid and just needed a fill. After that was taken care of the

problem went away. Once again the steering performed beautifully with no

noise. However before the fluid was topped off, and the noise was getting

bad, the check engine light came on. I then proceeded to take care of the

low P/S fluid. After the noise went away and the steering was back to

normal the engine light stayed on. Is there a reset button that the valvoline

guys missed or is it possibly staying on for a different problem. Everything

seems fine, exhaust has small leak that I will be having patched. But the

light came on when the fluid was low.(seems to be related). Help

Please!

 

shouldnt be related, borrow an OBDII scanner and read/clear the code.

 

my engine light stays on but the trac off light flashes can someone help me!

 

Take it to Advance Auto or Autozone and have them pull the codes..
