Default Center Instrument console controls

First time caller, log time listener.

Was looking for some help and advice. Odd problem on my 1994 center instrument control panel. (dont know the exact name) The entire thing went dead on me. My air, heat, radio, lights, any funtion what so-ever. Thought it might be a fuse, but then it came on a day later. Then off for a week, then on..off 2 weeks..on....now it has not came on in a long time.

Wasnt a priority in Florida during the winter (have jeep). But now I need that air!

Could it be a fuse? What about a bad connection. Maybe a circuit board like in the dash instruments?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

I will.
Wierd, Its not really a dash light problem, per se, its more like it ALL went out. The air, heat, radio. Not only do the lights not work, but nothing blows. Stranger things have happened on the ol' lexus that boggle my mind.
It seems that I have all the things that everyone has problems with... speedo needle stick, pulsating dash lights, busted CD changer, powersteering leak into engine, all hitting at one time.

So, I will get in there and check it out and followup. Thanks.

are you talking about the sticky called "Instrument Cluster Circuit Board is Bad! $1000 bucks!!!"

I didnt come across a solution in it. Just instrument problems. Got that too!... working on that as well.

I dont think my two problems are related. Could be though.

OK, checked those wires. nothing...
Any other suggestions.??

I'm a regular on the jeep forum. When something goes wrong, I'm usually able to look under the dash and see what the prob is. This has got me feeling stupid.

Anyone else ever have the whole center console just go out? Is there a plug that is loose under there? I dont want to have to perform major surgery on the interior, if I dont have to yet.

I did, but I checked again this morning.
No fuses blown, but now it works ?!?

So I figured that it must not be getting a good connection. So I looked in one of the slots and there was a broken off piece of wire. Like a connector of sorts at some time for some unknown device or dohicky from the previous owner.
removed it surgically, and we are cool with tunes again.

Thanks for the help.
