NAV bypass switch ???

Is there a way to bypass the NAV safety so that you can use it while driving?

I tried to enter a destination while my friend was driving, but got locked out of the system.

According to my dealer, there is no way to do it... If someone can figure it out, I would love to know as I too have asked that very basic, very annoying question.
