LS400 started as a gauge cluster problem now it wont start.
So i have a 1990 Lexus LS400 with about 167,xxx miles and when I bought it it worked fine except a few problems like no lights on the center console and and the dimmer for the gauge cluster wouldnt work and if i turned it it would just stay bright which i didnt mind. but about a week ago on the way to work i noticed that my radio kept turning off and on and whenever i put my brakes on my gauge cluster and anything with a light would turn off untill i released the brakes. i turned the car off and about 4 hours later i tried turning the car back on and all it would do was make a clicking sound and not even turn over. the battery had full power cause the radio would work fine and the ac would blow cold and hard and all the lights were bight as can be (no dimming like it had a low batt.)
I tried to turn it on about a week later and the battery is completely dead, and one i put the jumper cables on it it charged but still wouldnt turn over and all it would do is make a click when i turned the ignition. i dont even know where to start!!! i had put a new alternater in less then 2 months ago and i have never had problems with starting the car before this incident. if anyone has any clues please help me out.

Make sure battery is good. It might be holding a charge, but I would guess it needs replacing. Bring you battery to a napa or something and see what the cold cranking amps are... It takes way more juice to start the motor than it does to run the radio. Just my 2 cents.
