Default Radio Problem

I have a 93 LS400. The battery was changed recently and now the radio produces no sound. I am able to see the display, can change stations, switch from Radio to CD etc., but no sound. All suggestions welcome.

i had a sorta similar problem.. i tried to start my car and nothing happened, battery died, then i heard a pop. changed out the battery with a new one, and now my radio wont turn up past 1/4 way.... anything past 1/4 the highs and mids will cut out and i can only hear the woofer... my best guess is a blown resistor inside the head unit... sound system is pioneer, only amp is for the woofer, the door speakers is powered through the head unit. if u have nakamichi (sp?), all speakers are powered by external amps... maybe check fuses to the amps........?
