why'd you link to wheels?

some of their wheels are copies of others. they are one piece wheels with a multi-piece look and made in taiwan.

some small company in japan makes it, version select just bought it off them
sells them here as version select

i'm not going to get into an argument with you in this thread over whether or not Version Select aka RaceOnUSA makes knockoff kits as it's well documented in the industry that they do based on both their kits and statements from RaceOnUSA themselves.
here are a series of posts that was between me and Raceonusa when they had a brief time as a vendor here on CL, the thread was removed because it had gotten so far off-topic but i had saved the posts.

Toyota, in your example, created something that looks vaguely similar, works a decent bit differently (you don't actually NEED that handhold, it operates on the amount you lean, think skateboard) and is a completely separate, individual product and design.
Toyota created a new product in the personal mobility field.
You create clones of products that were designed by OTHER COMPANIES and sell them for your profit.
if at least the designs you sold were discontinued by the original manufacturers you'd have a purpose other than to purely try to cash in on the original manufacturer's success.
if Insurance or Junction Produce sold kits at prices close to yours, you wouldnt survive, because for a similar price people will ALWAYS want the original. don't forget that if the ORIGINAL companies weren't viewed as being exclusive RACEONUSA and its industry competitors would have NO BUSINESS
Now i sincerely hope that ClubLexus and/or Internet Brands doesn't remove this post because it goes against the grain of one of the sponsors...CL has never failed me in the past and i hope they never do.
copying these companies kits is one thing but STEALING the PICTURES off their websites as well?
REALLY? i mean come on, if you wanna copy a reputable maker of parts at least build a car or get pictures of a customer car
for reference, here is a picture of the Insurance Catalog...
here is that main image blown up a bit....
changes pointed out:

and here are the the changes you made (in addition to the background)
-The Insurance sticker at the top of the windshield
-The Insurance decal on the license plate
-ALL the Insurance copyright/website info
-Reversed the whole image horizontally
more Giveaways:
-same color paint
-same EXACT wheels/fitment
-the kicker, the SAME (reversed) reflections as the ORIGINAL picture from Insurance.

here's another kit they're copying as well, bonus points if you can identify from who.Originally Posted by PureDrifter

You should write a letter to Toyota while you're at it.
bad example, you guys use the ORIGINAL pieces to make a mold and consequentially your "reproductions" or "xxx-style" body parts.Originally Posted by raceonusa

raceonusa aka version select has a history of copying designs, they even advertised that they would give you a copy of your kit if you brought one in that they didnt have as long as they got to use it. they have since removed that statement from their website.
back on topic, OP's car looks clean, he's learned about why knock-offs arent really worth the money, and he's not trying to pass a knock-off as a legit piece.
are they still a vendor here? hope not.

does anyone know where i can get the junction produce body kit 96 lexus ls 400 and knock off
Man, this is why I'm never putting a body kit on my car :P
The marginal cost/marginal benefit ratio just doesn't add up to me.
Besides, with my luck, nothing would go right, from the ordering to the installation. But more on that later...

how about you actually pay some respect to the company that designed the kit you want, since it's the exclusivity of the kit that makes you want it (at least one big portion anyways) in the first place.Originally Posted by karlc
