The part nr for hood lifters should be 53440-59025. For some reason can't I post the link to the site with the information or even name it in the post. But if you are interested can I pm you the link

just buy ebay ones. the OEM are ridiculously expensive and a lot of people using the mighty lift have bent their hoods because they're too strong.

I noticed that too on my 90 (I would say bowed, not bent though) but not on the 95. KW, I think your friend would be okay with the AutoZone ones on your 96.

Good to know. The last set I bought from the dealer was somewhere in the neighborhood of $135 bucks a piece...Unfortunately, I had to replace all 4 struts.

Maybe first gen LS hoods are lighter but my 98 hood weighs a ton so no bowing issues.

Four???? The hood only takes two! Did you do the trunk also?

If so, what year? I'd like to replace my trunk struts, but haven't found a supplier for them (other than stealer). There is another thread where trunk struts was mentioned but nothing posted yet saying where to get them.
