Cool

By all means, check your oil, but please DO NOT add any "***** nilly" ... very bad for any Lexus! ... could lead to adhoc, and that's definitely trouble!

so revving in neutral and holding around 5000rpm+ will give the same issue.

which doesnt make sense because at 100mph the LS, my 2nd gen at least is ~4000rpm or less, depending on what gear i keep it in.
my car can not rev over 2000rpm stand still, might be limited by ECU, very strange. so the only way to test is to hit 100mph again

You, my friend might have bigger problems. Seems like limp mode. Check codes.

Quick question.... is the "oil light" red and to the left of the cluster (ON THE TACH) or is it orange and at the bottom of the speedo?

If you think about it, when driving THAT FAST, engine RPMs are way up so more oil is being sucked up from the pan than gravity can return it. Less oil in the pan, light comes on. When you slowed down, RPMs went down, less oil being sucked up and giving gravity a little more time to return the oil back to the pan. More oil in the pan, light goes off.

Simple physics. Add more oil and you should be good up to 120.
You are really close, but what is happening is that the RPMs are so high at 100mph for such a long period of time, the oil is getting aerated by the crankshaft. The bubbles cause the oil level sensor to sink, causing the light to come on.

people need to stop interjecting their opinions on what's safe or not. as long as everything is working properly, doing 100 mph in an LS (a car designed to go over 160 mph) on say an open interstate when its not raining or windy is not going to put anyone in any grave danger. doing 100 when everybody else is doing 50 is very dangerous yes, but on it's own 100 mph is just a number, everyone always treats 100 like you'll burst into flames if you reach it or something. and my car is only revving at just over 3000 rpm at that speed which is nothing for a well maintained 1uz and a341/650

Forums are for Ppl to express their opinions like you just expressed yours on a post about 5 years old.

my point is they came here to help diagnose an issue and not to be told if they're not being safe

Those comments are from 5 years ago...move on.

NotADood's reply and the oil level sensor are areas to have in mind.
