Power mirror issues - only works sometimes
Hi all,
I am new to this forum and am hoping someone here can help me. I just bought a 1994 LS400 (160Kmiles) and one of the issues I am having is with the power mirrors. The driver's side mirror adjusts up but doesn't work in any other direction. And the passenger side mirror doesn't adjust at all. Has anyone else dealt with this type of problem? Does it sound like this is a faulty power mirror switch? Or could it be something within the circuitry of the vehicle. Any help/suggestions are appreciated.
Tim

Hi Tim,
It sounds as if the mirror switch may be part of the problem. It also sound if the mirror ECU may be bad as well. One way to check the mirror ECU is to see if the steering wheel telescopic is working. If it isn't, the mirror ecu is bad. (This may not make sense to you, but it has to do with the memory function. Seats, tilt, telescopic, mirrors.)
I recently purchased a mirror ECU for my car. Neither mirror worked and neither did the tescopic. Bought it off of ebay. The ECU is behind the glovebox and was an easy repair. I bought the ECU off of ebay for $35.00.
After reinstalling mine, the left mirror and telescopic worked perfectly. However the right mirror did not. I am looking for the switch to see if it will fix my problem. They are also cheap.
Hope this helps. If you need any further help, repost and I can help you further.
