Default Speedo problem

So I looked at the LS section on this problem and nobody has any solution. I was wondering if anyone here would know what to do about my speedo sticking at 0. Only works when I smack ths dash, any thoughts would be great. Thanks.

Assuming you mean the LS400? https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...000-bucks.html

Found that in the LS400 section.
Tip- read the stickies

Also, so members can further help you with problems, post what year your car is.

So I just went to the dealership today and they seem to think it is the speed sensor, my car is a 00 LS400 with only 50k on it. I cant understand how it could be the sensor by the tranny if it works when I hit the dash board. Anyone have another idea?

Not really - sorry. There are other vehicle speed sensors though. My 95 did that off and on last year and so far in the last 6 mos. it has been working fine - it is a curious issue. I never smacked the dash. Rather, at highway speeds it would start working after a few minutes.

Thanks, no more smacks on the dash for me. I guess I will wait for it to stop working all together then trouble shoot it. I just cant figure out how such a nice car can have a problem nobody can fix.

I sorted sticking needles (speed and rpm) by superglue-ing small thin pice of straw on next to the 0 mark, so needle can't fall under 0 mark (you can even try making it 1mm above 0 mark)...

After that it didn't stick anymore...
