Default LS400 Acceleration

I've been on Youtube and watched some LS's accelerate from 0-60 and some are sluggish and some are decently quick. Based upon your experiences, how do you find your LS in terms of throttle response and acceleration (BTW, I'm talking about a UCF20 I (95-97)). It would be practical if you can provide me with a comparison to another small 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder car.

95-97 is a little bit faster than 1st gen cars, feels a LOT better with the extra torque in the mid range, but is still no post 98 car.

I find the power to be more than adequate for a daily driver. It's decently quick, but it's not a race car. I definitely wouldn't call it slow.

Are you sure it's slow. I'm almost certain that it's faster than a Mazda 3 or a Civic LX for example. I do realise that it isn't a racecar though

the car feels slow even when its not. I timed my 0-60 with my ipod and got 8.3 sec. with more than 270k... i'll take it!

slow by todays standards but still fast for everyday driving. Overtaking is NEVER a problem.

coming from a 6,000 lbs. SUV, i think the thing is a race car. However, now after having it for almost a year i am getting used to the acceleration. I say it has plenty of power for what you need, but it is no race car at all.

I have in my 00' nailed the gas at about 45mph needing to get over to an exit ramp and spun the tires. So to me that says it does have some power.

1UZ is a pretty strong motor, i believe is more like the LS weight like 3800lbs plus the slow shifting auto.

Sorry for my misleading post, I've guess I think its slow because I've gotten used to the acceleration. But if I actually think about it the LS is actually a pretty damn fast luxury sedan for being so freaking heavy. You'll notice the real power on the freeway.

It's no problem, I was sure that the LS wasn't slow but I can't wait to actually drive one myself. It will be my first car. Once again, thanks to everyone for the feedback, greatly appreciated
