You can get the KYB's locally from Pep Boy's in some states; Autozone in others. Check with some of your local parts stores in the area to see if they carry them. Other than that, ebay you go. In some of your previous posts, you said that you wanted to keep the car stock...
I really don't want any modification from stock ride height or quality. Unless I could improve ride quality to have the suspension as quiet and smooth as air ride
If this is the case then all you need to do is just buy the shocks and replace. Downside, you will need a spring compressor to do this. You could go with a slight drop, offered by H&R(my setup), or a Tanabe spring. This setup will drop your car, after setlling, close to 1.5 inches. Ride is still comfortable, but dont misjudge, because it is different from stock. Lowering any car will help he performance of just about any car as far as responsiveness. No it will not be just like riding on Air suspension though. So the question for you at this point is which direction is it that you want to go? My current setup is the KYB's along with the H&R springs (LI Celsior had the same setup). I also went thru and upgraded most of the suspension with the Daizen bushing kits (still need the steering bushing though) and my car feels ALOT more responsive to cornering, doesnt feel like it is gonna fall over like it used to and body roll seems to have been reduced quite a bit. Is it perfect, no. Is it sports car quality, not quite. Does it have a sproty feel to it, while still maintaining a very comfortable ride, yes.

Allright guys, so I decided to go all OEM. Here's what I'm getting.

Both rear shocks.
Both rear springs
Spring bumpers
Upper strut mounts

Now, here's my question. The upper mounts are quite expensive, at $100 each. Do they really need to be replaced, and what is the likehood of them failing? Also, I could get aftermarket upper mounts for $40 each, but I generally don't like anything aftermarket, especially when it comes to suspension parts.

So for all of you that have swapped your shocks for performance ones, did you have to have the strut mounts replaced?

P.S.

Here's a quote that I got on these parts.

Shocks - $266.62
Springs - $190.32
Bumpers - $39.24
Upper Supports - $203.78

If I found KYB shocks at auto parts store, would I save a significant amount over OEM? And nobody seems to make springs that match OEM height

Are they high quality stuff? Did you replace your mounts when you did your suspension?

I replaced my top moounts when I installed my GR2's. They are very decent quality. You will have no issues with them at all.

Just a question,, where are you getting your bumpers from? I need to replace my front ones, so I might as well go around the entire car. Where are you getting yours from?

From lexus-parts, they are CL vendor. Very good service and prices, PM them for quotes on whatever you need. Also, Carson is very good, they are CL vendor as well.

Lexus-Parts.com isn't a valid URL... Can you tell me what the URL is for the site you're referring to.

Thanks

I got my KYBs, all 4, for $250 two years ago from ebay, now about $306. Skip the springs, they should be fine. KYB strut mounts are also available on ebay and are pretty much OEM quality. When I did mine 2 years ago, all 4 mounts were $165, now about $50 each. You'll probably need the bumpers. No way to tell until you take out the old ones. You'll probably need new upper and lower spring pads (#7&8). Unfortunately only available from the dealer and not cheap, $132 two years ago. Others have reused them. Take a look and maybe yours are still in good enough shape to reuse. For this repair, labor is a major component so you want to have the parts ready. It will cost the labor all over again just to do the bumpers or seats or mounts.
