Bumping this from the dead. I have a diff I broke something on so I'm pulling it out and I want to take the actual diff out of the housing and measure it to find out what we can swap in. Can anyone tell me exactly what I'm measuring to find out cross comparability?

To find out what someone else was asking and was never answered. If the stock differential is the same internal dimensions as any other Toyota equipped LSD so I can stop sliding on a welded diff. Car is a '92.

you should be able to use a mkiv supra LSD, either OEM automatic torsen (USDM) or the aftermarket clutch type of your choice for the same vehicle.

Basically you should be able to use a 200mm ring gear 4th gen supra LSD. You can NOT use the 220mm ring gear internals found in the USDM 6spd turbo. Japan mixed and matched the two diffs so if in doubt, measure the ring gear as the 2 R&Ps are NOT interchangeable at all.

I've got a mkIV torsen in my '99 LS400 right now, it's nice .

Oh I bet. I dream of driving without accidentally putting the car sideways around turns….well no not really but it would be appreciative to my driving record so that it stays clean hahaha. How should I measure the ring gear. End to end is 200mm across?

you can but it'll be nigh-impossible without taking it out of the car. I'm pretty confident you'll be fine.

200mm OD is what you want, 10 bolt, ~150mm bolt-center diameter. ~127mm ID.

Well I'm replacing the entire casing with a junkyard one. Broke something inside on a clutch kick lol.

make sure to update, would be nice if you could confirm finally that the internals are interchangeable.
