1998 coolant refill after replacing timing belt
Well, this seems like such a "beginner" question.
I took the weekend to replace the timing belt/water pump, tensioners, drive belt tensioners, etc. on my 98.
Got everything back to together (no extra or missing parts) and started to look to replace the coolant. Of course on the reservior it says to remove the plug at the front of the engine. I know on the earlier engines there is a plug on the water inlet, but there's not one on the 1998-2000.
There is a plug (called a "drain plug" in the manual) on the top of the throttle body. However, this is not a very large hole.
What is the "obvious" thing that I am missing?
TIA

There's not a plug on the Water Inlet Housing where the thermostat is? Interesting. According to this diagram for a 98, there should be:
www.t o y o d i y.com/parts/p_U_1998_LEXUS_LS400_UCF20L-AEAGKA_1603.html
CL must be filtering this particular website, as a workaround for now, remove the spaces between t o y o d i y.
Moderator: If I must, I'll remove the link.

It is interesting that this diagram does not match my 1998 LS400. I called my local ex-Lexus dealership mechanic and asked him. He said the 98-00 do not have the plug on the top of the water inlet. He said he typically just puts a gallon thought the upper radiator hose, then fills the resevoir.
Seems strange, but apparently that's the way it is.
Thanks again!
