Angry LS recalls?

Im having trouble finding recalls for the car (if they're even out there). There has to be something Lexus has said about some Ls's turning off after long drives (which includes mine just yesterday) and those dayam power steering leaks. Is there anything else im missing (i know the lcd dash thing is just a wear and tear thing, but does it get grouped with the rest?) The reason I whine about this now is that i hear too many different things about what is actually wrong with my car turning off. Been to too many dealerships saying its one of three million different things, without any guarantee that the 1/3,000,000 chance i have when i choose one will be the correct fix. These cars are sooooooo not for poor college folk (makes me wonder if its time to sell). oh well, i'll call another dealership and ask, kinda gettin routine now

I feel the same way about the expenses.
I too am a poor college kid. I bought mine explicitly for the luxury and reliability-but when something does go wrong, it is very costly. Luckily at this time my income tax refund is coming, it will be enough to cover a new timing belt.

Default Should we be informed by Lexus ?

Hello~
Well i took a look at all the recalls for the 90-94 LS and well it seems to be quite a few , wouldent Lexus send us a notice informing us about these recalls or are we supposed to find them ourselves, I am confused.

Most of those appear to be service bulletins, not recalls.

Come to think of it, I don't think my dealer ever did any recall work on my LS and I've always taken it to the dealer for service.
If there were any recalls, I figure they'd gladly do them since they get paid by Lexus for it.

Supra94Red,

Good site. Lets you search both safety recalls and consumer complaints (if you go back to their main car page).

Damn, I went on the site to see if there was anything for the 2001 GS430...the didn't even have a listing for ANY 2001 Lexus cars...I was like WTF? Then it hit me, there aren't any recalls for that year...

That site (NHTSA) is handy, thanks Supra94Red!
