Default What is this indicator light?

Car: 93 LS400

Ok, what the hell is this icon referring to? I'm used to having an owners manual and figuring this out on my own, but my car never came with one.

Anyone have a link to a factory owners manual for the 1993 LS400?

Thanks in advance.

Would help us alot more if we knew which indicator light you were talking about. Post up a pic, or please describe the indicator.

i wanna say that's brake related, check the fluid level in the reservoir and/or the brake sensor meaning you at through a pad.

Brake indicator. You may have a bad sensor or relay or fluid may be low.

Brake pad wear indicator. If your pads get too low the sensor will make contact with the rotor and cause that light to pop up. It may indicate other brake related problems as well.

Everyone has answered that it is in fact brakes but to answer your second question, if you register on lexus.com you can request a new owners manual also (they will send you a reprint for free).

You will have to replace the sensor or look for instructions here on how to repair the sensor.

Only if they are still in production through Lexus. I was given this same advice and because my car was a 92 and I believe the poster has a 91 they "were unable to fulfill my request" or something along those lines. I would check eBay (theres a specific sections for manuals and lieterature) they are abundant and relatively cheap as compared to the place the dealer refers you to.

Thanks for the help guys.

So, I was searching for the brake sensor, but I found no clear instructions on getting this light to go off after you replace your brake pads.

However, I did see that a few people were soldering (sp?) the two wires (??) together as a temporary fix.

To the folks that have made this forums so great (PureDrifter, trukn1, and others), is there a specific thread I am missing?

Oh, and about the owner's manual, I have the loot, just curious if there was a link for free. Time to stop being cheap haha.

Thanks guys!

the light will go away after you replace the sensor.

assuming you know WHICH set of brakes is bad, front, rear, or both.

there are sensors i wanna say driver's front and passenger's rear

soldering the wires together to create continuity will get rid of the light but not really make them work properly as sensors.
