I have 1993 LS 400 that threw a check engine light Sat. So i had seen how to check for codes. I shut off the AC, put it in neutral ,made sure to the best of my ability that the throttle valve was closed; and I still cannot get any codes. The engine idle smooth but when you give it the gas she hardly wants to rev. I unplugged one coil at a time and it made no difference. But I noticed a clicking on the D/S fuel rail towards the firewall where there is a vac/reg looking thing on the rail with a fuel line hooked to it using a mechanics stethoscope. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance. Gator3
That is the website I got all of my information from.
I was able to get a code 51 from trac. I think i am having a problem retrieving check engine codes because of the throttle valve. I am not even sure I know where it is. I just don't think it is closing enough for the code pulling to work.
Does anyone have a picture of the throtte valve? Thanks in advance, Gator3.
are u trying to see what code is coming up? if so u need to shut the car off and put it in park, jumper the proper terminals in the diag test center, then turn the key to the on position and watch the cel blink.....maybe i am not understanding u on this
Yes, I have a check engine light on and I am putting the jumper wire in Te1 and E1 with the key in the on position not running. But the check engine light just stays on and will not blink to show codes. If I take the jumper wire out and start the carthe check engine light stays on and the car has no power. Already checked the coils and there fine.
I am doing it the way www.lexls.com said to do it.
here is link but I don't know how to make them work.
i dont think u have the jumper in correctly, u either have it in the terminals or they are not making good contact ....if they were the light would blink.....disconnect the battery for a few minutes then see what happens
