ECT Norm/Pwr light on dash on -- what's up?
1997 LS 400; 106+ k miles.....
Today the ECT Norm/Pwr light at the lower left of the instrument cluster came on; the setting on the the ECT switch (located to the left of the shifter) is in the Norm position, and the light stays on whether I change it to Pwr or leave it on Norm. Obviously, something is wrong. What is the most likely cause of such a problem? Could it be the switch itself, a setting someplace, or what?
Any help would be greatly appreciated; thank you.

I haven't had a chance to have it checked for an error reading -- I hope to tomorrow. I think your idea is a good one; I wouldn't have considered a sensor problem. Many thanks.
