Light came on --- what does it mean?
Today I had a light come on on the dashboard that says "OD OFF". Any idea what this means? I couldnt find it in the manual. I assume it has something to do with the odometer maybe, but that seems to be working ok. I have not noticed anything not working. I have a 1999 ES300. I would like to know what this means and how to fix it. Thanks.

your overdrive is switched off... switch it on and you will shift one more time letting the engine cruise at lower rpm's at highway speeds... the switch is a push button located on the shifter

LOL...I had the same "problem" on mine after picking the car up from the Toyota dealership where it was being serviced shortly after I got the car.
I thought WTF! It wasn't like that when I dropped the car off!
So I went back into the service dept and said, "There's something wrong with my car now. A light is on in the dash that says OD OFF.....what's with that?!"
The service advisor smiled and came out to the car with me to show me how to turn the light off. Yep, just a button on the left side of the shifter.
I felt like a bit of a dope! LOL

Well from one "dope" to another, I did not even know there was a button on the side of the shifter. It must have gotten accidently pushed in. I thought a circuit breaker was bad or something. This was one of the easiest fixes I have ever had!
