Hi everyone, I am new to this forum group.
I am currently working on a 91 LS-400 that needs both of the front upper control arms replaced. I can not find a repair manual, for a reasonable price, any where. Could some one direct me to a site that has the info? I looked at the "AARC" site, and it starts out with the 93-94 LS-400's. Or maybe some one could just explain the disassembly and reassembly procedure?
The repair preocedure for the 93-94 LS is still the same for the 91. Here is a site which will be very helpful to you in the restoration of the LS you are working on.
Wow, I was making this more complex than I had to. I did run into problems though. All my fault though. I loosened the nut on the top of the spring a little too much, and it decided to pop off. All I had to do is throw my spring compressor onto it and tighten it down. But that's not what I did. I removed the lower control arm, steering knuckle, and sway bar connection. Next the rotor hit the ground and the spring and shock just slid out. A very hard way of doing it. Needless to say, the other side went much smoother.
By the way, I bought my upper control arms from Ebay for $200 for the set, from what I was finding everywhere else, that is a great deal.
