yeah i was just wondering since they use the same motor but due to the big difference body wise customizing it would be the way to go. will it be hard to do so? would it be worth doing?

meh, intakes for our cars are pretty much for sound and looks. They do nothing for performance, especially since no one makes a heatshield for LS's. It's up to you if you want try it. I run a K&N cone filter setup on my car. It sounds great but that's it.

Apparently Lextasy has an Injen intake with a heatshield for the LS400:

I'm not sure why the website address has SC430 in it when the description describes it being for the LS400.

haha they just gona give you the sc400 intake. i bought mine too thinkin that it was for my 95 ls400. but its chillin does the job lmaoo. i clean it every 3k miles with my oil change. injen doesnt make an intake for any ls400 period :]. the intake i have is pretty dinky tooo im not sure how well its suppost to work out but hey at least it didnt make my car slower lmao. you should do the kn air box thingy that everyone else is doing to their ls400. i think that is way better. and you can actually pass smog lmao

save yourself the money. I just bought a K&N replacement filter, moded the filter box myself...removed the square plastic cap on the right inner fender right next to the filter box. Now the intake is sucking cold air from the fender and stock ram air snorkle. Nice deep rumble when you step on it...silent when you are cruising...looks complete stock!
