Default Hood shaking a little bit on highway...whats up??

Ever since I had my 92LS the hood rattles, for the lack of a better word, at highway speeds. Its not flexing in the middle, though. (when I searched the forum for this problem, most people where noticing a movement/flex near the windshield). I noticed there is A LITTLE movement when I try to pick up the hood when it locked down from the front by grabing the grill. It is secure, however, as the grill would have broken with me pulling it so hard before the hood ever popped loose. It moves +/- 1/8th of an inch. its just enough to get annoying.

Has anyone had this problem?

Thanks!

mine does move ever so slightly, when i noticed it the first time @ speed i was afraid the hood had come unlatched and it was holding on the second catch for the hood release handle. i stopped the car and pulled up on it and that was not the case.

dunno what the deal is but i just ignore it now

hey the hood on my 94 jade seemed to do the same thing. dont worry lexus thought of that too! there are little cylindrical rubber screws that extend or retract as you twist. twist em to fit and voila, no more play.

Does anyone know where to get these? Or another solution for this problem? My hood has the same problem.

Thanks for the pics! I'll have to look if I have those.
It appears from the pics those are located near the front of the hood. My hood wobbles/flexes near the windshield, though...

I have several holes in the plastic "decking", under the hood near the windshield. It appears there was screws/bolts/something there at one time, but they are now just empty holes. Can someone tell me what is supposed to be there?

Or you can look at all the cowl (decking) parts by searching for them. Here ya go; http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-cat...S400-1992.html

My guess is the Hood Stoppers are missing. PNs 55738A and 55739A.

I think they keep the hood from going through your neck in a front end collision. :O

I agree. Something is missing. I'll try to take a pic tomorrow and post.
It just sucks to be driving such a great car and the passenger sees the hood moving. Ugh!
