Default Bouncing hood

I test drove a 98 LS the other day (the one with 45 psi in the tires), and at highway speed the middle of the edge of the hood closest to the windshield was bobbing up and down a little, no doubt from air billowing. Normal? Fixable?

no, open hood and check for loose screws/bent+broken bracing inside the hood. you may have to remove the liner.

Thanks, that makes sense. Since you said it wasn't normal (and it seems it shouldn't be, despite what the owner said), I called Longo Lexus and the service rep called the hood bracing "lumbar supports." I think he made up that name, or rather borrowed it from the seats. He thought the part would be about $80 if broken. No doubt there are cheaper alternatives.
