Default Painted Grille

So I did something a little different here...

I painted the grille gloss black...about 4 coats and a couple coats of clear

I have these pictures I took with my phone, but they aren't very good + it has been raining for days here.

Looks great with glossy paint. You did a nice job. I did mine with flat black and I'll repaint it with gloss black next

It would look good I guess but...

1. I have chrome wheels
2. I didnt want to sand the chrome down
3. Id have to buy black pearl emblems and some kind of black rims for it to look right

I did take it into consideration though

That might be going a little too far for chrome on the LS

What type/brand of paint did you choose? This looks better than the stock gray look on a black LS.

GREAT job. All you need now are some black housing projectors. Sweetness.

Looks good.

Why they chose that charcoal gray grill color is , they trim it with black and chrome. Every Toyota I have had has been this gray and each one I paint it black.

Uh not to hijack this thread but when I painted mine satin black I used DupliColor from Auto Zone. After seeing these gloss pics I am going to repaint mine including the chrome surround - why not

I used Krylon paint. I put down the first coat and had my doubts...no shine, but the more I added the shinier it got.

If you do this, make sure you let the paint dry first before you apply another coat. It's a very long process, especially when it's a rainy day.
