Hi all. I am looking for a used Lexus as my daily driver and I'm considering the 1993-1997 GS300 or the 1993-1994 LS400. I prefer the styling of the GS300, but I prefer the power of the V8 in the LS400. The GS300s are very hard to find clean. I found a 1995 GS300 w/ 71K miles, but the car has a deposit on it already, so it will probably disappear. I also found a 1993 LS400 w/ 74,600 miles. The prices are roughly the same for the 2 cars. Which would you choose and why? Please consider maintenance costs, etc if you don't mind.

LS400 all the way,V-8, plus longevity of the LS 400 line.Although maintenece will cost a bit more than the GS300. I love the power of the V-8 in the LS400 it feels quite invincible after 50mph.

Well I would choose the LS,but that just because I own one hehe

I like the style of the GS3 better BUT if I had a choice to get a clean LS4 vs a clean GS3.......................... I'll get the LS4 now my wife would take the GS3.. Ladies like the GS3 styling a lil bit better IMO.. But a LS4 with some nice 18" thru 20" rims would be nice..... and a pearl GS with the same size wheels would be nice too. You can not go wrong either way!!

No I'll take the GS3.. uhhhhhh No the LS4........ DAMN the GS no the LS......... You decide!!! :eek:

How much are both cars, color, options, etc...?

Pros:

*Both cars will out last 1,000,000 Viagra pills
*Great looks
*Panache of the brand
*loaded posh interiors
*enough HP for the average owner

Cons:

*LS higher maintenace in the long run
*GS lower HP vs the V8 LS4
*LS kinda bland (sorry guys!!!)

*YOU CAN NOT HAVE BOTH


Just get a SC4 and have both a sweet sexy body and the LS4 V8 power!!!

Thanks for your input guys. I found the right car last week and bought it on Wednesday. It's a 94 GS300...midnight blue w/ gray interior...59K miles. It doesn't quite have the shove of the V8 in the LS400, but the 2JZ moves along just fine. I guess with the choices I was looking at, I couldn't go wrong....this Lexus or that Lexus? How could you blow it? You can't...they're great cars!
