Default 1998 - Shaky When Revving

I'm having a problem with my 98 that I'm pretty concerned about. When the car is idling (in park) and I rev the engine, I can feel a strong vibration, more so when the RPMs are coming back down. It's shaky in the steering wheel and gives of a very aggressive sound. I can also feel this a bit when driving.

Input is appreciated. I'd like to know what to expect before taking it to the shop.

Thanks

I thought that as well since I hear a clunk (usually 2) when I come to a fast stop in drive or reverse.

Any other theories?

do the rear trans mount, it requires basic tools and a torque wrench (and obviously jack stands+ a jack) and it only costs like $40

il have a write-up on how to do it soon (i needa get time from school )

Remember what I said about inheriting others' problems? This does sound like mounts, however, which is a simple fix.

Oh.. it's a DIY thing? Good stuff, I'll wait on that then.

I'm also waiting for the rest of the aux-input tut.

Thanks

EDIT: Nvm, looks like you already took care of that.

trans mount is a silly easy job, i did it on my lunch break at work. use the spare tire jack to keep the rear of the transmission in place while you unbolt it. it's so easy i could just die, it's easier than an oil change, it's easier than a drunken college chick, it's sooo easy

100% sure its the trannt mount, I had the same problem, felt like the driveshaft was bent.
Also change mmotor mounts, you will be amazed how smooth things will get.

Changed the trans mount in my driveway today... NO MORE VIBRATIONS. I didn't even do the engine mounts yet... will wait till after winter.

Thanks all.

No pictures, but they're not required.

Basically.. put your car up on jacks/blocks (2 front corners) and support the transmission with the jack. Then it's just a process of removing scews/bolts, replacing the mount, and putting them back where you found them (some screws differ).

Not much skill required at all. In terms of tools, you just need a wrench and 3 sockets.
