both work well and after market radiator should work just fine for that old of a car the same year as mine. I recommend using toyota anti freeze with distlled water 50/50 mix and change it every two years with out fail. I radiator and hoses are 17 years old and still going strong but I am watching them pretty close now and will change them just to be on the safe side. CHANGE OUT THE THERMOSTAT FOR SURE WITH THE NEW RADIATOR. AND IF YOUR HOSES FEEL SOFT AND SPONGEY JUNK THEM AND PUT IN NEW ONES.

I am having the radiator leaking from the sides as you see in the picture and don't know what to go for..

Should I put a whole new one in or should I change the plastic covers on top of the radiator..

second thing is the alternator which I think is Dying AGAIN.

This will be my fourth one to put in there.

Is it only my problem or is it the heat in my country or is it my luck.

Again I visited this website:

alternator link

but I dont know which one to go for..

If you remove the banjo connector, you should see two copper washers inbetween the banjo and the bolt that secures it in. If there is only one, it iwill leak. Also, if you have one, there is a pressure leakdown unit that you can affix to the top of your radiator cap. That will add lbs of pressure to the system and show you where it's leaking out of.

Hard to say on the alternator, check if something is leaking on it (like maybe PS fluid).

I have used Performance Radiator radiators with no problems. Be sure to get the copper one. It's really easy to replace it. As far as alternator going out again and again, it could be that your steering pump is leaking onto the alternator, which ruins the guts of the alternator. That is a very common problem. The steering pump leak is primarily caused when the idle-up valve o-ring goes bad. I have removed the valve and installed a plug in place of the valve several times on these cars. You need to plug the vacuum lines when you remove the valve. Hope this helps.

The radiator on my 1990 was leaking from the crimp all around the top. The rubber gasket was shot. I bought a new one off ebay. My fitting at the banjo joint was almost plugged with rubber bits from the gasket.

Change Out The Radiator Go With Copper And The Alternator Is Going Out Just Like The Guy Above Said Your Power Steering Is Leaking Fluid Right Into The Alternator And This Will Cause To Fail Every Time With Out Fail. My Alternator Has 190,000 Miles And Still Going And I Have Seen Them Go 250,000 Miles Plus And Still Work. After Changing The Radiator Also Change The Termostat Also And Any Hoses Look Bad. The Best Thing To Use Is Toyota Antifreeze The Red Stuff And Distilled Water No Rust Problems. Mix It 50/50
