Default Brake pad light is on, pads are good..

1995 LS

So the brake pad warning light in my cluster is on, but the pads are new. I figured no biggie, probably just need to reset it. However, the front right wheel is acting up a bit. Sometimes it sounds as if the brakes are failing to retract to their positions and it makes a very faint grinding noise, usually when I turn to the right. For example, I could be driving in a straight line... when I merge to the left, no problems. When I merge to the right, that noise comes back and I can feel a slight resistance (shaking) in the pedals/steering wheel. So whatever it is, it's setting off the warning light too.

Any ideas?

did u just replace the pads after the light had gone off?

if so, you need to buy new senors.

Yeah, the sensor might be at fault for the warning light, but how would you explain the friction sound?

Would it be hard to take the caliper, etc. apart, clean it, and put it back together?

Did you put those little screws back in the rotor hats?

Your caliper is frozen or your brake fluid is low.

For those interested, I solved the problems.

The light was on because of a bad wire connection. I fixed the noise by replacing the wheel bearing and hub.
