Default Help me decide next update to 99 LS400...

Ok, so far I have 18" rims, tint, muffler delete w/ tips, and the lexkost/jbrady air intake mod. Now I'm looking at the following, which I need to decide which order (or if) to do them in:

1. Drop it. I've read about tanabe DF210 mainly w/ the KY-B shocks. How is that setup? I think coilovers are out of my price range. 95% of this would be for looks, wheel gap sucks. The most important thing is maintaining ride quality, I don't want it to ride rough.

2. Front bumper/ side mirrors respray. I got the car in SC, and while the overall condition was an A, the front bumper has some peel and rock/sand/bug damage on it. The side mirror paint is also pretty bad, from 8 years of coastal driving. Not a *huge* deal, but as you lexus guys know details will bother you.

Bottom right, upper left you can see it, as well as the peeling/faded part right of center

3. Full porter cable detailing. Again, being an 8 yr old black car, it has plenty of spiderwebs/swirls/light scratching, etc. I've claybarred/polished/waxed to death but its beyond elbow grease. I could buy a PC 7424 or whatever, but I don't know if I would get my money's worth out of it. I don't want to do touch-up paint either until the foundation is as good as it gets.

So out of those 3, what would you guys pick, and what are your $$$ estimates on each?

I vote get it detailed, and then get it dropped, and then respray.

Out here a good detailer charges around $200 depending on the condition of the paint.

id say a KYB and Eibach (if u can find them) is a good choice for both drop and ride. H&R would prolly be a good choice (basically anthing with less than a 1.5in drop.

the Tanabes wouldnt be as nice a choice being that the KYB arent made to take the 2+ in drop and would die rather quickly.

est. KYB/eibach setup=~475-550

detailing is a good choice but remember that if u park outside, or DD ur car, itl never look better than the day its detailed, so take pics that day

est. detail = ~$150-175

if u like the look, you could also look into painting or having painted the interior (plastic, not chrome) part of your grill to the OE black instead of the random grey it is from the factory.

Keep the stock springs and install the Bilstein struts on the lower perch setting. That will give you about 1/2" drop and you'll not likely notice any ride changes.

$450 for struts, ~$200 for install, $75 for alignment.
