Default Cupholder options???

I know, I know, not too much "tech" in cup holders, but does anybody have any good options for aftermarket cup holders? Search revealed less than nothing......

The stockers are too small in diameter for a good sized soda, and too shallow for a tall skinny one.

They do hold cans well, but with anything other than that, a spill is imminent.....

The only thing I have been able to come up with is a dual plastic holder that sits in place of the stowed stocker, or a recessed holder(s) that could be used for bigger drinks, while the stock unit could still be used as needed.........

Any help is appreciated.....

I guess I should also ask, What is under that panel?

Is there room for a recessed holder?

I doubt there is enough room for a recessed holder. The way the cup holder comes out from that slot (up and out at an angle) makes it even more difficult to work with modifications.

Have you thought about using a side table?

You can remove the cup holder and use a dremmel and enlarge the holes.

You could transfer your drink to a travel mug. Our OXO mugs fit the cup holders in our 2000 LS400 like they were made for them.

These mugs are insulated, come it lots of colors, and have a button on top to open or close them. Lots of stores carry them.

Where does one find such a glamorous side table? Does it stay on even when you slam the doors?

Hmm...

I don't usually sit in the back, but if I did...............

I think that I am going to mount an adjustable cup holder inside the top compartment of the center console. It is short enough so that the lid will close, and I can just use the normal holders most of the time, but if I NEED a big gulp or some other ridiculously large drink, I'll leave the lid open and use the big holder inside.

A plus to this is that with the top cover open, the rear AC will blow on the the drink.....

I run a single DIN pioneer stereo and in the other DIN space I have fitted a Toyota dual cup holder that also has a pull out draw .
It's very handy as it clears the shifter even when in Park and it takes a 600Ml bottle .
Add in the fact that it is in front of you [ and not behind you like the standard cup holder ] so it's easier to reach and you can do so without taking your eyes off the road , I use it way more than the standard cup holder .
It also was a bolt in fit !!

I have seen similar units, but most folks seem to think that they will break the vents....

Instead of cupholders, why don't you just clean out the windshield washer fluid tank and put your favorite drink in it, then redirect the tube so that it goes into your mouth? You won't even need to suck, just pull the stick on the steering wheel and it will pump the beverage directly into your mouth.

See--now THAT's the kind of fresh thinking we need more of around here...
