Default really dumb question about AC

i bought my LS400 "third hand" and have only had the car for a year, so i have no clue if the air conditioning needs a recharge or if it needs freon. would any of you know which one the car uses? it's a 1st gen.

sry, but iirc pre 94 cars used R12 coolant, AKA Freon....so ul be needing either a bribeable shop or a conversion.

exactly almost all 94 and earlier cars used the r12 freon which is now very expensive to have done at least here in colorado it runs about 200 or so becuase its explosive so it has to be handled in a certain way. plus it had the now banned CFCs so its hard to find a shop with it in general.

ummmmm not sure on that one if so it would mean new a/c condenser, piping, and a few more things and none of which are cheap.
