Default NOS Kit on LS

Here is a Nitrous Kit for the Lexus V8 engine. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/outlawpe...v8efi50hp.html
This looks like it will work on the LS, or you could always use a zex nitro kit at www.zex.com . The prospect of nos on a LS400 seems very interesting if it is possible without blowing up your engine and tranny because that would be a bad thing indeed

The weakest link for NOS for the LS would be its tranny,it just shifts to slow and sluggish,Although I have seen as high as a 150 shot on a SC400 before.

I thought of NOS before, but pulled back on the idea.

Zex seems to think it would work just fine and so do i, i just wouldn't go above a 75hp shot. Heres the email i got from them:

The Zex nitrous system part number 82011 is the only item we offer for your application. This system comes complete with 55, 65, & 75hp settings. The only modifications required would be to use a spark plug that is 2 steps colder than the stock heatrange plug and when using the 65 or 75hp settings you will need to
retard the ignition timing 2 degrees from the stock setting. If you have any other questions feel free to contact us at 1-888-817-1008.

Thanks,

Zex has some pretty cool computer controled systems to make sure your engine does not get damaged so it might be worth a try. If anyone has any hand on experience with using NOS in a Lexus i'd love to hear about it.

tach,

I would like to hear how to retard the timing on the lexus V8 engine??? Very interesting...

Nos will work on a ls. shifting can be a problem.

2 fixes,

1 easy fix, get a rpm on/off switch made by NOS or MSD.
Cut on at 2k-2.5k off at 6k for the shift.

2 harder but not impossible. Find a valvebody from a SC400 and get it swapped in . Faster shifts... but you still may have to cut the nitrous off because SC's shift somewhat slow also..

Even better get an aftermarket valve body with faster shifts, so you wont burn up your transmission...

Good Luck,
Scott
