Impressive Lexus coffee table book
I came across a Lexus LS400 book at the used book store. It appeared to be a book given to Lexus owners at the introduction,, early '90's?
It is a large coffee table book, hard bound. It is impressive, having good glossy pictures and many statements from the Lexus engineers on development of the car.
A very nice, large book from Lexus. However the bookstore literally wanted a small fortune for this book. Does anyone have one of these, and what are they worth? Do you wish to sell it?

You should go back to the bookstore and get the ISBN number (back of the bookcover or inside-front)and try to find a better price but, if it is a recent book that just came out. The only thing I can suggest is try to find it online or buy it on sale.
No, it is a different book. Only about LS400, from the brief scan I made, perhaps strictly 1st generation.
It starts off with something like, "welcome Lexus owner" on the first page.
Thay's why I thought it might have been a promotional item from Lexus. They wanted $50 for it.
Ouch. All the other books $10-$12!

Try this and ebay's used book finder section. I know it sounds like a promo item but, try it out anyways. You could also ask from Lexus 1-800 number and ask about it.

The book you are referring to I think is the Lexus LS400 bruchure. All dealers carry these for every car they have. As you mentioned Lexus makes pretty high quality brochures for their customers. I bought these also from ebay for 1990 and 1991. I paid $10 .00 for mine in perfect condition.
1990 LS400.
Stock old lady looking car.

Perhaps I am confused. This is a hard bound book. I have picked up other brochures in the past, they are indeed high quality. I have a Soarer brochure from japan (lexus SC400).
This really is a book. Probably over 50 pgs, maybe more, just guessing. I have never seen a brochure like this, but I am not familiar with early Lexus literature.
Has anyone seen this, many interviews with Japaneese engineers inside?

Actually, I think the lexus "catalogs" that you get from the dealerships are pretty weak...I've see better stuff from BMW...
The catalog for IWC watches is actually a BOOK (hard cover) with 2 built-in bookmarks...has many pages on the history of the company, the process of hand building the watches, the different machines that are used, etc., etc...as for price? It's free. IWC is NOWHERE near the size (physically or financially) of Toyota/Lexus so as the saying goes, "if they can do it..."
It would be nice for Lexus to at least make ONE run of catalogs like this...they should have done it for the 2002 LS430...it is, the flagship afterall...
If anyone from Lexus is reading is, I would LOVE to be the Art Director for this project...
