Is it possible to swap in a Sc400 V8 engine and tranny in a Ls400?

 

depends on generation.

and you may have to swap oil pans+sumps, iirc the SC has rear mount sump vs. LS400 which as center/front mount sump.

 

1990-1994 thats the gen.

 

Dont they already have the same 1uz engine?

 

enigne is basically the same but i recall reading on toymods or lextreme that there is a different sump setup to accomodate the SC's suspension crossmember.

cant really confirm this atm though.

 

Well my buddy was wandering, if he could throw on a Sc4 Supercharger on a Ls4.
Since there the same engine?

 

THAT should work, the intakes+basic blocks are identical.

lextreme has tons more info on this. im fairly (99.9%) confident that most of it should transfer over.

 

This is the route I plan to take. It will be the Eaton M90 kit from Australia (Rush Imports or Richwood Tech). I have yet to find a definitive answer for whether it will be an exact bolt on (kit is made for the SC400 1UZ setup).

If you find definitive answers on what mods need to be made b/w SC4 and LS4, please post here. It should be only minor mods, if any.
