94'LS 400- The tipping point?
I've got to get ya'lls opionion on this. (Yes Ya'll.. I'm from the south).
I bought a 94 Ls about 4 years ago with around 125k on it. It was the cream of the crop in the market back then. Driven by a rich old man, leather in perfect condition, all records, etc.
Now 4 years later and about 60K later, I'm starting to wonder if I should sell it or not. First, I ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS CAR. But, I'm not exactly the most car savy when it comes to maintenance on cars. My questions is how long do 94' LS's last? Since this car is 13 year old, when do things just start breaking due to age (ie: shocks, etc).
I'd love to keep it, but I don't want to end up sinking money into it for major expenses? It drives perfectly now by the way.

dude it all depends. My 93 has 226 now and just needs some bushings. Routine maintainence man. Shocks are cheap. Also upkeep MAY get expenisve but i read consumer reports said that a 98(!) ls400 is more reliable than a 2006 benz.

If you are at the 180k mark, it is time for a new timing belt and possibly water pump. Even if this costs $1k it'd be worth it in my opinion as the running costs are still way below what it would cost to buy a new or newr car.
But then, I'm cheap.
