I know I have a very small vibration at speeds like 60-80, but very small, more noticable if I slow down from 80-60. Anything over 80 is smooth as silk. I find that rather odd.

bump.

Finally had the time to check my breaks. I got both front wheels
off and found out that the two small screws holding the front
rotors where missing from the right side. The left side had only
one left. The front rotors where replaced by the local Lexus
dealership last september. I don´t think that the previous owner
had taken the screws out so I suppose it has to be the dealer.

I also took all the pins and breakpads out and cleaned them. The
pads seemed a bit tight but I think the main culprit is the right rotor
that seems to be warped. So the brakeing vibration is still there.

Do anyone think that a rotor can be warped because of those
missing screws ? Anyway going to make a very angry call to the dealership.

Next thing will hopefully be them turning the rotors. I really want to
get rid of that irritating vibration.

very possible the tech forgot to put the set screws in.

i wouldnt really make a big fuss just about turning them, make them replace both rotors.

turning the rotors wont work if they are too badly warped, and it only costs like $8/rotor anyways. (ask ur local pepboys :P)

Update on the vibration issue.

I finally had the time to take the car to the dealer. I know what
everyone is saying about Lexus main dealers but I have say I'm
more than satisified.

My front rotors had been replaced last september by the dealership when
the car was taken there by the previous owner. I bought the car this january
and started getting that notorious warped rotor vibration during springtime.
Last week I contacted the dealer abt the problem and they sayd they would fix it. Took the car in today, got a IS250 for the day. They had replaced both front rotors, bads, squelshims etc. and charged me nothing. On top of that
the car was washed and cleaned inside and outside.

Now the vibration is gone. I suppose I should do the rotor break-in thing now?
