Default POLL : strut tower bar

Thoose of you that have a strut tower bar what do you think....does it effect the ride....how so, for better for worse. Any comments either way I'm trying to make up my mind about putting one on or not.

Man I've no doubt that a strut bar will stiffen things up , but hey if you could actually tell....who knows ??
After all the LS400 is a bus !!
Anyhow who cares whether it does anything or not !!
I just want one so that when I open the hood...whooo-hooo , there it is and it looks awesome !!
I just want one for eye candy !!

on my old LS i could immediately tell there was a difference and to make sure it wasnt just me i had a friend drive it (who had driven it a few weeks earlier) without telling him i had added the stb and he too, commented on the more "solid" feel, especially when going over rough roads/bumps.

It may firm things up but the chassis still has flex. YMMV if it improves the handling characteristics of the car.

I noticed a huge difference -- in my steering. The strut tower bar seemed to tighten up my front suspension parts and made my steering wheel feel much more firm, and the steering feel much more responsive. It was worth it just for that. Body flex? Probably can't notice the difference.. but the steering feel was drastically improved in my car.

I installed the Tom's and got it from Carson. It is beefy and did make a nice difference in terms of stiffening up the steering, cornering, etc. Was it night and day? Of course not since my car is lowered with after market struts, etc. My guess is that adding it to a purely stock LS you'd see a noticeable difference in stiffness.

Also when you do open the hood you see this:
