Default vague steering

Hello All: A question. I bought a '97 LS in November with 81k miles and I have driven it about 2k miles since then. I feel the steering is somewhat vague, in that I have to make small corrections of the wheel when driving. It has brand new Yoko Avids and brand new brakes with new calipers all around and is aligned perfectly.

Could there be a problem with the rack-and-pinion steering box or tie rod ends, or what? It is more annoying than a safety issue, although that exists.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think that just might be a symptom of the Avids. I have the Avids, and let me tell you, I hate them. I mean they are pretty decent tires, but they don't compare to the Bridgestone Turanza's I had before. Those made the car feel much more planted and firm. Your Avids will improve slightly once you put some miles on them. But at $70 a pop shipped you can't beat them for the price. The Turanza's were double that.
