Your cousin has abnormal issues. My SC is turbocharged on 19's and the tires last over a year on the back and about double that up front -- daily driven.

PM me if he needs more direction. It's all in the way you set it up.

well, you are in Florida, I have been down there a few times, you have nice roads down there. Michigan? The roads are horrible in some places out here.

Have Tein CS suspension. No idea how low.

I'm loving a lot of these cars with the wheel/suspension combos. I'm running stock right now, but am looking to maybe upgrade.

Here's my setup so far, OEM chrome wheels and Bridgestone Turanza LH 225/60/16s:

I have 15" steel rims with wheel covers. I got rid of the golden stock rims that came with it, ugly rims! But later today or tomorrow, I am going to get some new chrome rims, and I opted for 17", I like 18", but I don't feel like fixing rims or tires out here since we got very bad roads out here.

you COULD go 18's, just make sure to get tires with a 40 sidewall. i'm running 18's with p225/40r18 tires, and i feel confident in them.

and i live part time in san diego, AND part time in LA. the roads don't get much worse than those 2 places.

Eastwind, I drive through Detroit quite often (drive tractor trailers for a living) and I have also driven my car up in that area(have relatives and friends in Detroit) with my 18's on and have had no problems at all. Agreed 17's will give you a little more cushion under the rim, but if you decide to do 18's, you will be fine as well.

wheel specs on page 1 235/40/18 18X8.5 +40 offset
