All that is telling you is that you have a bulb out somewhere on the rear end of the car. Turn all your lights on, and check if a bulb is out, also have someone step on the brake, activate your flashers, and put car into reverse to see which light does not work as it should. Once youi determine which bulb is not working corrctly, then just replace.

Look under hood for diagnostic connector located toward front of engine on driver side. Look under cover for pin diagram. Jump E1 - TC
This will display trouble codes for TRAC and ABS (among other things)
Count your codes in 2 digit numbers, example flash-flash-flash-----flash = 31
Most common reason for TRAC light to stay on is code 43 and ABS code 54
This is usually caused by small brake hose located under master cylinder that connects to TRAC accumulator (small silver canister)
Check codes and post results

My 1990 LS400 has the "Antilock" and "Trac Off" lights on the dash panel. When I jumped between terminal Tc and E1, I got diagnostic code 32 (counting the number of "Antilock" light flashes). Could someone please tell me what trouble area this code indicates?

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

Default code 32

31 & 32

Air Flow Meter Signal

I would check your O2 sensors first.
Sometimes it tells the ECU that the MAF is bad when it indeed is fine.

Thanks for the reply. I will check it out. From my past experience, the O2 sensors went bad at one time and it triggered the "check engine" symbol along with the "Trac off" light. I 'm kind of suspecting that the "Antilock" and "Trac off" lights may have something to do with the speed (or ABS) sensors. I traced the front left speed sensor wire to the inside of the engine compartment, but did not see where it comes out. Since there are a total of 4 speed sensors on this car ($140/each), I hope I can check them out by unplugging one at a time from the engine/transmission side and see if it still generates a voltage when that rotor is spinned. I only have the factory service manual volume 2, which does not cover the ABS section.

I 've confirmed that the anticode code 32 indicates a problem with the front left speed sensor. To replace the sensor, remove the wheel, open the fender liner, disconnect the plug, and remove the 10mm bolt at the wheel hub. Here is the rest of the codes:
31 - right front
32 - left front
33 - right rear
34 - left rear

Default yo

I think there is a box somewhere in the trunk that needs to be replaced. A short or loose connection back there.
I have the same issue. Its been that way since I bought it.
It goes out on occasion, depending on how much crap I have in the trunk. I think there is a short somewhere. As long as my lights work - I don't care.

Check it often to stay away from the 5-0.

I see and correction on my part, it is actually the headlight indicator and it only comes on when I turn on the lights. All do work though.
