Just Got New 2002 LS430
After owning a 2001 BMW 740il w/SP for 8 months, we decided to get rid of it for a new LS430. Its not a bad car especially if you like handling and prestige but we realized that it is not the car that truly satisfies the driver and passenger. This LS430 is amazing. It ride smoother, quieter, steering feels better (740 is light at 60+MPH), best stereo (Mark Levinson), nice gadgets (Laser, park assist, seat ventilation etc.) and most of all, LS should be more reliable (740 has many problems). I can take the very conservative styling. I was very impressed.

Congrats on the new LS ! 
At this level it is HARD to argue the comfort and reliability of the Lexus. The 2 true competitors, BMW 7 series and Mercedes S class, cost MUCH more and seem to have MUCH more problems. That said, the new 7 series will have a 6 speed automatic transmission and NO throttlebody! Engine speed will be controlled entirely by the varialbe valve timing system ! Very impressive if reliable. The top MB models have true active suspension, VERY cool. I am just HOPING that Lexus comes to market with a performance version of its cars like the MB AMG cars.
