I have been reading articles about lowering our LS with Air Suspension (AS). Anyone have the complete and detail discription on how (DIY) to lower the AS. I am getting 2002 SC 430 Rims. Yet, i would like to lower about 1-2 inches.

Your opinion and links will be greatly appreciated.

Yes I too am interested in any info on the AS. Mine seems to have one side slightly higher than the other, and would like to see how to balance it and possibly lower it.

Hey David, have not seen you on the forum recently. Good to see that your still around. I did lower my air suspension and it went pretty easy. I added the thread below which details what I had to do.

The tires do not rub over bumps, but at speed when the car lowers itself even more, it does become a bit rougher - not a big deal though.

The BEST way to do it is to find someone that can/will import the R-SPEC suspension controller. I thought I had someone here in Denver, but that did not pan out. As far as I can tell the ASE-664 will work with the first gen. Looks like it is a plug and play. If you want the PDF file email me and I will send it. Maybe you will have better luck finding someone to get it and if so let me know.

How many of you guys actually have air suspension? I can have the R-Spec controller imported (I post some info about the R-Spec a while back...) but I need more than just one or two guys...10 would be good...

 

I got the air suspension too, and was wondering about how to lower it. It seems like the right hand side rides a little lower than the left hand side does. I've already replaced the front driver's side air shock, for a whopping $1000 plus labor. Anybody else have to replace theirs yet? Mine's a 91 with 152,000 miles. I think I might have to replace the other one too, since I hear a thump noise sometimes from the front passenger side when I hit a bump Anybody have problems with a shaking steering wheel and bad rotors?

 

The left side does seem a bit higher than the right, but going down the road the car look level. (I switched rides one day with a friend). I think the reason for the difference is when you are in the car it will adjust for the weight of the driver. When you get out and look, the left side will be higher as there is no weight in the car. I find if I get out and let the car adjust itself the left and right side looks good

I would like the suspension contoller, but I would want to make sure it will work on the first gen.

would the kit fit 1995 LS? and how much? is it pretty hard to put in and would i still be able to use the electronic controller (high & normal)?

i just got a quote from R SPEC for the ASE664 with complete manual and wire harness for $470. He said it will include a english manual. I made sure of it. Well the wiring seems easy. I cant remeber which member was it that had problems with wiring. Drop me an email.

i have done my research this time around...and the ASE664 model is for the UCF11....i know there is a price on the datasystem website for 400 something and then a 130 dollar harness that you need to purchase...i did the conversion to dollars. so let me know if there is a 2 man group buy or something. i would be interested in buying it if there is a discounted price.

yes it lowered my ride.......... its low to were I cant drive it and I got 16 w/snow tires on now for the winter.

When I purchased mine I didnt have to pay extra for a harness.

the control system will fit all cars you just have to make sure you order the one thats for your car.
