I have a 1998 Lexus LS400 and when I pushed the "unlock" button on the remote, the car gave a long beep as if one of the doors were ajar, but all doors were closed. The same thing happened when I pushed the trunk unlock button. After pushing it a couple of times, there is no beep when I push the button, but the LED light on the remote still blinks. Also, the lock button works fine, but the unlock and trunk button does not function.

When I used another remote, everything worked perfectly. Any idea of the problem?

 

Something wrong with your remote. Sounds like internal remote problems. TRy changin the battery.
