hey wassup my dad has a 01 ls430 w/ ul and i notice lately when me and him drive home from school or work when he floors it the car is sluggish.in other words i dont feel those 290 horses like i used to.anybody have any ideas.and also today he let me drive it (I AM HAPPY 17 YR old WOW) so i was on a clear road and i punched it but it took the car like 2-3 well thats what it felt like to respond and then all that power rushed to the rear wheels and i got some wheelspin and i got nervous so i let off the throttle but n e ways ne body have some ideas

Lexus tranny is automatically adjusted to your style of driving. If your dad is regular driver, the cars transmission responds accordingly. If yoy drive it offensively for half a day, the tranny will readjust itself to a sports mode and be very responcive.

All the newer models have that delay when you floor it,it is come in the GS400 models as well.Reseting your ECU and drive it hard for a day or two and it will learn your more aggresive habits.

so what ur saying is that i should reset the ecu.so the steps i do are as follows:disconnect negative from batt for about 45 mins.then start the car leave it idle for a lil while then turn it back off then there the ecu is reset.if these are the correct steps please let me know so i can take care of this sluggishness hehe

I believe that the best way is to pull out the fuse that is respocible for the ECU. It should reset instantly.
