LS400 performance difference from year to year...
you should definitly test drive a 98-00 LS400
a friend with a 93 sat in mine for the first time the other day and immediatly said "damn, this a lot nicer than mine" I have 117k miles. He has 110k, and is in great condition also. his almost looks brand new.
I usually get average 22mpg per tank, but never less than 19, but that's only when I deal with lots of traffic. I also took a 300 mile trip to FL and got 31 mpg. If I hadn't driven around so much while I was in FL, I could have gone there and back on less than one full tank.
HID's are great too.
