Default New Member... few questions

got my 93 LS400 w/ 200k miles 4 month ago and i think i need a new / jdm motor for my car. our family friend own a auto repair shop and he said he could put a 99 motor w/ 30k miles on it for $1800 installed. is that a good deal? and would a 99 motor fit in to my LS with out any problems?

thast REALLY REALLY cheap for a late 2nd gen motor. those were the VVTI motors w/290hp. the tranny on those were 5spds

ive been thinking fo this swap but have had a hell of a time finding a motor for those years.
