Default LS400 Service Issues (150-300K)

Is it economically worth holding onto a wonderful car like the LS400 for the 150-300k (i.e., later stage) interval?

Let's assume that "IT IS" if for the only reason that Forum readers (like me) love my LS400 (1993 model) and aren't going to consider alternatives until either the LS430 comes down in price or the new LS460 (coming out in 2007?) arrives and is worth the high price tag it will probably command.

Remaining Question:

For those of you with first hand experience. . .what "major" things could I expect will need to be replaced over 150-300k or say the 5-10 year time frame? :et's exclude the usual list of suspects, such as scheduled major services (i.e., tune ups), timing belts, water pumps, etc.

Thank you in advance!

i wouldnt worry about it at all cause the 1uzfe is only 400 -600 and its about half a days job to swap in another motor so.....my advice is keep on motoring till it dies and replace it with a used motor from a junk yard or something!!
